Elements and Performance Criteria
- Plan and prepare for testing vehicles and equipment
- Access, interpret and apply service and maintenance documentation and ensure the work activity is compliant
- Obtain, read, interpret, clarify and confirm work requirements
- Identify and address potential risks, hazards and environmental issues, and implement control measures
- Select and wear appropriate personal protective equipment for the work activity
- Access, interpret and apply required geological and survey data
- Identify and confirm testing requirements
- Identify and obtain required resources
- Prepare vehicle to be worked on for the test
- Coordinate activities with others prior to commencement of, and during, the work activity
- Obtain and interpret emergency procedures and be prepared for fire/accident/emergency
- Test vehicles and equipment
- Carry out pre-start, start-up, shut-down and isolation procedures
- Test operational functions of the vehicle
- Move/relocate vehicle for testing purposes
- Identify and rectify faults and arrange for corrective action
- Act on and report monitoring systems warnings and alarms
- Recognise and respond to hazardous and emergency situations
- Complete the testing sequence
